Seth Godin on Standing Out

A while back I was asked if there were any business books I would recommend… Most certainly! I thought I’d start with Seth Godin’s book, The Purple Cow.

Moriah (our guest blogger from Monday) mentioned this video from Seth Godin. I thought it would be the perfect way to help you get an introduction to the book and Seth’s ideas.

Just finished Purple Cow. That should be next on my reading list? (I also recommend Switch: How to Change when Change is Hard.)

Leah! That was fabulous…and EXACTLY what I needed today. I woke up, thinking…hmmm…I think I have things covered (was feeling a little overwhelmed the past few days)…then I started thinking…a new business owner should never feel like they have things “covered”! I was once told…by a Brittish hog farmer ( I kid you not…I’ve worked in a few odd places in my life.) “Stress is good, stress means you are being taken to bigger and better things.” Whenever I start feeling comfortable in anything, I think of what he said.

Well today was a comfortable day! So, I have to think about what I’m going to do to change that.

Ha ha ha that he was / is…with the economy their company has really hit bottom…but their crawling back up and they were listed in the top 100 companies to work for in 2010. So, although they are working in…well one of the toughest industry both to staff as well as to generate profit…they are holding on! See! We can find inspiration anywhere! 🙂
