What’s inside Leah’s Bag?

Sometime it’s nice to just know what other photographers are working with. I always love knowing when lens’ photographers are packing. So here is peak inside my camera bag…

A few explanations:

The pez machines. I shave down the sides of the base so that I can slide them into my flash mount. I have an impressive collection at this point which is fun because I can let the kids pick one and the start of the session and if they are more on the shy side, this is a great way to get a relationship started with them!

Fashion Tape. I hate seeing bra’s or skin that shouldn’t be seen so I keep Fashion tape around to fix that. It’s great for teens!

iPhone. The reason I included my iphone is because I have all these albums in iPhone of great poses that I love that I can refer to before a shoot for inspiration. I have them all categorized by subject.

I’ve heard of the Pez trick before. What do you use to shave down the sides? Can you tell I’m totally not crafty OR handy in any way? πŸ˜‰

    • Leah Remillet says:

My kitchen scissors. Probably NOT good for them but they haven’t yelled at me yet so I’m going to keep doing it. πŸ™‚

P.S. I love your name! Jenna is my sisters name and she happens to be one of my favorite people in the entire world!

So I’m super curious about the pez dispensers. Do you leave them tall? Do you end up with shots with every kid looking over your head? Or do they end up seeming natural? Awesome trick either way. Going to have to go shopping πŸ˜‰

    • Leah Remillet says:

I do leave them tall, I gotta fill them with candy! I do shave the sides down to fit in the flash mount. The eyes end up right where i need them but I will pop my head on the side of the camera to get their attention if needed. The one problem with little ones is that you will get a lot of shots with their hands reaching up toward the pez. πŸ˜‰
