Okay not really. But… What an awesome weekend! I turned 29 yesterday! On Friday night my hubby and I were going to dinner just the two of us and he wouldn’t tell me where we were going. I was so excited when I figured out we were going to Urban Fondue, I love that place!
We got to the restaurant, walked in and I see two of our really good friends! I was so excited to run into them! I honestly believed we had just happened to be at the same place because I’d known they had a baby-sitter for that night, Mary and I had talked about Urban Fondue earlier in the week and her hubby had just gotten back from a 2 week work trip. It all made sense in my head as an awesome coincidence. So I went on saying things like, ‘it’s so fun to see you guys… did you guys want to eat just the two of you? … Do you care if we join you?……. Should we tell the host we only need 1 table?” They all let me go on like this for a good 5 minutes before they told me they were here for me! I was so excited! We sat down to wait for our table and as I sipped my Shirley Temple (Sprite and Cherry Grenadine) all of a sudden I look up to see my sister coming down to give me a hug. I was shocked!!! She lives in Seattle, three hours away and that meant that she and Mike (her fiancé) had left the moment they got off work to get to Portland in time for dinner. At this point I was ecstatic! My night was perfect! We sat down at our table and started looking over the menu when all of a sudden David and Carrie walk in the door of the restaurant. I jumped from my chair to run to Carrie and practically fall on her to give her a huge hug! They also live in Seattle so again I was shocked that they had made the three hour drive just for my birthday dinner. The night couldn’t get any better!
My favorite restaurant with some of my favorite people it was a night to remember and it’s all thanks to my incredible husband. I told him he only made one mistake! The next time he plans something like this, he needs to sneak my camera in the car! All we have to show for my amazing night is an iPhone pic.
The weekend continued on in sweet perfection! I never checked email or did a stitch of work, I just enjoyed friends and my little family. I’m sorry today’s post in so personal. I didn’t have anything prepared and – well – was still feeling really excited about my weekend.
And I’m still working on my office! I’m having some major issues with finding a chair! One was delivered and despite the “white” description it was far from so it’s going back and the DIY projects are reminding me that I’m lousy at DIY… But I’m still determined!
Happy Happy Birthday Leah! It looks like you had an amazing birthday. What a sweet hubby you have to do all of that for you!
