1. Goals – But Make Sure They’re Yours
We hear about goal-setting all the time, but here’s the truth no one tells you: not all goals are worth chasing.
Before you write down another dream, ask yourself, Is this goal mine? Too often, we chase what we think we should want—someone else’s version of success, not our own. That’s a fast-track to burnout and dissatisfaction.
Start by revisiting your goals. What’s on your vision board? What did you write in your journal back in January?
Now here’s the magic question:
If you could only accomplish ONE thing in the next 90 days, what would make you proud?
Your goals should support the life you’re trying to build, not the one you’re trying to escape. Clarity isn’t a luxury—it’s a shortcut. Define what you truly want, not just what looks good on paper.
2. Growth – The (Often Uncomfortable) Path to the Goal
Once you’ve clarified your goal, you enter the middle ground between where you are and where you want to be. That space? It’s called growth—and it’s rarely convenient or comfortable.
Here’s the thing:
You can’t goal your way past growth. You have to grow your way to your goal.
This might mean you’ll need new skills, new boundaries, or a shift in mindset. That’s not failure—it’s transformation. Your dream reveals your desire. Your growth reveals your readiness.
Anticipate the stretch. Plan for the discomfort. Prepare for the learning curve. Because most people quit here, not knowing that growth is the sacred ground where real change happens.
3. Grace – Speak Kindly to Yourself
We don’t just need to hustle less—we need to speak softer to ourselves.
Grace is the antidote to toxic productivity. It’s what allows us to stay in the game when things aren’t perfect.
Let me be clear: You will miss a day. You will mess up. You will feel behind. But you are not behind. You are in process. And grace means you don’t quit just because you missed a step.
Progress, not perfection.
I use a habit tracker, and yes—I love seeing a long streak. But if I miss a day, I don’t spiral. I forgive myself, speak gently, and start again. Because shame won’t get me to my best life. Kindness will.

4. Gratitude – Focus on What You Want More Of
Gratitude isn’t a fluffy add-on—it’s fuel.
What you focus on expands. Period.
If you focus on everything going wrong, you’ll find more of it. But if you start your day by anchoring into what’s going right, you’ll multiply that energy. That’s why every morning, I write down three things I’m grateful for. Because gratitude not only just feels better, it’s backed by science! It could be as small as a great parking spot or as meaningful as a deep conversation.
Want to take it up a notch? Try a reverse bucket list—write down everything you’ve already accomplished that past-you would be proud of. Watch how your energy shifts.
Gratitude reframes pressure into perspective. It builds confidence, kills comparison, and makes room for more good.
5. Gumption – Do It Scared
Gumption is boldness. It’s bravery. It’s messy, scrappy, heart-pounding action.
It’s doing the thing before you feel ready.
Some of the best things in my life happened because I acted before I was fully prepared. I didn’t wait for permission, and I definitely didn’t wait for perfection. I just jumped—and figured it out as I went.
Confidence comes after. Gumption comes first.
This is your permission slip to leap. Not recklessly—but bravely. Where do you need to stop waiting and just start? What scary action could move the needle today?
You Don’t Need a New Life—Just a New Lens
If you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed, it’s not because you’re broken. You don’t need to start over. You just need a better compass.
These 5 Gs—Goals, Growth, Grace, Gratitude, and Gumption—are how I realign when life feels chaotic. They bring me back to what actually matters, and they remind me of the kind of person I want to be.
So here’s your invitation:
Pick one goal that matters most.
Walk it through each of the 5 Gs.
And watch how everything shifts.
