Black Tie New Years Eve Party Planning

This year Taylor got the idea that he really wanted to host a New Year’s Eve Party, but not just any NYE shindig. He wanted Black Tie, disco balls, and a champagne fountain (only in our case sparkling cider).

Now that the final countdown is on to bring our party to fruition, I thought it would be fun to share how I’m building our party plan and the round up of inspiration I’ve found thanks to Pinterest (my NYE Planning board).

Black Tie Gold and Silver New Years Eve Party
Happy New Year Garland  (I found at Marshalls) / New Years Party Blower (I found at Marshalls) / Tinsel Swizzle Sticks / Gold Glitter Top Hat / Confetti Pinwheel Decoration (I found mine at Home Goods and TJ Maxx) / Gold Dipped Feathers / DIY Confetti Poppers / Tinsel Swizzle Sticks / Virgin Mint Mojito

Here’s what I have planned:

Food: What we get to eat is always my favorite part, and the one thing that I give the most attention to. If your guests eat well, I believe they’ll remember the night well! I know I do! We are doing appetizers and desserts. Guests will be bringing delights based on the first letter of their last name. To be sure we have plenty of foods, I will also be making a half dozen or so appetizers and a chocolate fountain station.

Drinks… Being LDS we choose not to drink alcohol, but that doesn’t mean we don’t still enjoy clinking glasses and bubbly fun. That’s why I’ll be converting my gold snack cart into our mocktail station with everything one needs to make Virgin Mint Mojitos (quick recipe here), Cranberry Cuties, and Dirty Dr. Peppers.

Entertainment: One of the hardest things about New Years is that it’s a l-o-n-g party, and you want to make sure guests stay entertained. We have a few ideas up our sleeve for this. The first is that as each guest comes in, they’ll be given a new identity for our murder mystery (I purchased a pre-designed game from Alleyeson Lou on Etsy).  I’ll let you know how it goes after the party.

Next, we will have surprise challenges and activities inside of balloons. Each hour a new balloon will be popped to reveal the challenge like a dance off, everything goes to black light while glow in the dark sticks are offered out, and match up the New Year’s Eve resolution to the guest.

Finally, we are clearing out all of the furniture in our family room to make it our dance floor.

I can’t wait to show you the final result of our own New Years Party come to life soon!

Until then… Happy New Year!!  I hope you’ll allow this year to bring you more joy, more laughter, and more fulfillment than you can currently imagine.
