Why Mistakes are so Valuable

Things don’t come easy for me… ever.  I don’t pick something up on my first try and think, well aren’t I awesome. When I’ve wanted to learn something, I’ve had to work twice as hard as everyone else. I use to believe it was a curse, but in the last few years I’ve come to recognize these traits as one of the biggest blessings about me.

The thing is, I’m use to failing. I’m use to screwing up, getting it wrong and embarrassing myself – these parts of me are as much of who I am as my brown hair and big feet. I’ve learned to love them because I’ve realized they are the reason for the success I have been blessed to experience.

You see, I failed. I messed up. I got it wrong… more than twice. But I’m use to that, so every time I got it wrong, I looked for what I could learn and eventually I started to get some of it right.

If you’re willing to examine the results (good or bad) for a lesson, it will never be a waste of you time.

My greatest achievements usually came just after my most painful lessons.

What about you?
Are you a natural or do you have to work extra hard? And how has it helped you in life?
